The humidity continues to be low in December and although often still warm during the day this month usually brings the first cold snap of the winter when temperatures may drop to below 15ºc.

In December thrushes increase in numbers and they become less shy. In 2012 Pale Thrush was present from the 8th. On the same day the jogging trail area also had a male Fujian Niltava and a female Mugimaki Flycatcher. Flowerpeckers are much in evidence in the coldest months of the year in the area at the top of thrush alley. They frequently sing and call from the tops of the trees on bright sunny days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81QJHHDs8Gs&feature=plcp
